Each season brings with it a certain color vibe—darker tones during winter, earthy for fall, etc. Summertime is all about the bright and the bold. Think of your clothing, for instance. You’re way more likely to sport bright yellow during the height of summer. Why? Because the sun is blazing and doesn’t penetrate light colors to an extreme degree (keeping you cooler) and because we tend to mirror our environment. The same holds true for home decor and color palettes. Try one of these themes for your next paint job to really capture that summertime vibe.
Citrus Tones
Ah, lemonade. Citrus isn’t just a source of summertime refreshment, it can also add a brighter color palette to your home. Pale and bright yellows, greens and oranges liven up spaces like bathrooms and sunrooms, while permitting natural light to pass. Throw in some white for a balanced color combination.
Berry Bold
Summer is as much about energy as it is about sunshine. Enter bight, bold hues.
